So since last posting we have made the decision to rehomed Blanche as an only dog. Although she is friendly with dogs in the garden and loves to run and play she does have food agression, which has left our sally with a nasty bite in her side. Now I can deal with it, it is just a part of fostering, however I know many people would not and what we don't want is her getting rehomed and then coming straight back for 'attacking' a resident dog. She is not an agressive dog and I do not want her portrayed that way. She is the friendliest, gentlest little dog and sometimes I cannot believe she has attacked Sally. She's such a cuddly little girl and I love her to bits. Which is why I can't see anyone else not.
On Tuesday Blanche went back to the vets and has been put on more stronger antibiotics. She is already responding well to these so hopefully after this course she will be all better. Now Blanche does have a viewing on Sunday by a lady and her teenage daughter! Like I said I can't see anyone not loving her, 2 other fosters met her tuesday and loved her and even my neighbour loved her, shouting her into the garden as we had another fence built up. So she has being getting plenty of attention lately! So hopefully if all goes well with the viewing we will be able to arrange a homecheck for next week so fingers crossed. Really hope it goes well for her, mind you I do love her, she's a great little dog and fits in perfect here. But she is too perfect for us to keep! And somebody out there will love her just as much as me I'm sure. I will update on that early next week anyway :)
I met Barnaby, the handsome collie x jack russell, again today. Unfortunately the poor boy had a poorly leg so I took him straight down to the vets this morning. As lovely and friendly he was to me when I went in, when we got to the vets it was obvious there was a problem. While the vet tried to examine him all he did was cry and scream and jump around, and as he was just going to make the problem worse the decision was made to sedate him and keep him in for an xray. This afternoon when Barnaby was picked up it was found that he had patella luxation, where the knee cap will keep popping out of place and although given antibiotics if it doesn't get better he will need an operation. If he needs it the rescue will get this sorted for him because the rescue dogs are the most important here and is where your money goes when you donate! So please donate, if Barnaby needs it, it will be a costly operation and I'm pretty sure the xray wasn't cheap.
